The Importance Of Loyalty In Friendship

Huber Humphrey said “good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. Have you ever had a friend you really care so much about and would do anything just to see him or her smile? Then you realize that the friend you care so much about has been living a lie with you all these while. Could be heartbreaking. And you wonder what happened to being loyal?

Loyalty is the most prized quality in any relationship. It brings better health, happiness and satisfaction. Has a person you trusted ever done something bad to you? If you thought the person was your friend. .  Instead of that person being loyal to you, they were disloyal or unfaithful to you, and now the genuineness and reality of your relationship has become glaring.

So when it comes to friendships, are you the type that make your friend feel secure? Are you honest and sincerely wish the best for your friend? Do you tell him/her the truth? Are you someone your friend can lean on? Are you impartial or yours is a conditional type of friendship? Do you abuse and misuse that loyalty for your gain? Or you have a friend that demean or make fun of you in front of others or make you feel bad about your choices? You feel bad about yourself when you’ve spent time with them. Then that’s a no-no. Friends should make you feel good, empowered and uplifted. If you leave them feeling sad then you should probably re-evaluate the benefit you’re getting from the friendship.

Finally, I believe we all should thrive each day to be a loyal. And a better person for you and to those whom you love, it wouldn’t cost anything. And if you have that one friend who would go miles just to be there for you. Make sure you help each other grow and don’t take that friendship for granted.
