Interesting Places To Visit This Festive Season In Nigeria

Remember when i said i’d share the list of interesting places to visit in Nigeria especially this festive season? Well i always keep my promises so here goes.. And you can decide to visit all if you have the money or just visit one or two places listed.

Obudu Mountain Resort: is located at Obudu Cross Rivers State. A true mountain resort. Walk trail, canopy walk, nature reserve, cable car ride, horse ride and above all clean fresh air…ideal for 3-4 days family stay or business retreat. A loner wouldn’t really enjoy the place. Absolutely gorgeous mountains views. Another thing to enjoy is the beautiful and serene environment. Obudu is a must visit resort located high up in the mountain range (about 1500m above sea level), giving it a temperate ambiance. It is neat and serene with spacious suites at a good price…..plus complimentary breakfast. Very special place for those who want to get away from the Urban Jungle filled with noise, pollutants, and heart attacks.

Olumirin Waterfalls: I had the opportunity to go to this waterfall when i was a corper in Osun State and it was a wonderful sight to behold. It’s located in Erin-Ijesha, Osun State. Olumirin waterfalls has seven falls, each one providing a new and different perspective. The waterfall forms a large pool of water on the ground, surrounded by vegetation. The steps needed to reach a next level are not specified. Climbing them may be a daunting task and I couldn’t go beyond the second fall because it was late but it was fun all through. Looking forward to climbing to the 7th fall this December.

Idanre Hills: Located at idanre town in Ondo at 3000 ft above sea level with several monumental features like the agbagba hill, the carter hill, ajimoba hill, the ilesun hill and the arun river. Furthermore, the Arun River has been said to heal anyone of any sickness or disease when bathed with. To get to the top of the hill, tourists would have to climb six hundred and sixty seven (667) steps. So i guess, if you are not a fit fam, you shouldn’t consider climbing it.

Kajuru Castle: The first time i heard about Kajuru was in the June. A friend had traveled to Kaduna and stayed there. I had to ask if he was in Nigeria because of it’s beauty. He told me the castle  is a luxury villa, built in early medieval style at Kajuru village in Kaduna State and was opened in 1989. It operates on an exclusive basis and can only accommodate 12 individuals or 5 couples at a time. Kajuru is the most appropriate place to visit for an awesome getaway and also an honeymoon destination.

Yankari Resort & Safari is a large wildlife park located in the south-central part of Bauchi State, in northeastern Nigeria. It is the most popular destination for tourists in Nigeria. The “Wikki Camp” is the tourist centre of the park. Located about 42 kilometres from the main entrance gate. The camp is built beside, and named after, the Wikki warm spring, which is open for swimming. Finally, the wikki warm springs with its crystal-clear water offers wonderful opportunity for swimming in a safe, natural river.
